Philippians 1:1-11

Paul reminded the believers in Philippi that he ws confident that the Lord who had begun a good work in them would complete that work (verse 6). Notice a couple of things in this verse. First, it is God who does the work. It is true that Paul had gone to the region of Philippi. He had preached the gospel there, and under his ministry people had come to Christ. But Paul did not see this as his own work. There was no doubt in his mind that the work of salvation in Philippi was the work of God. We need to understand this in our own ministries as well. We can try to do all we can to change those changes possible, all our efforts will be in vain. Changing people's hearts is God's work. We are called to be instruments in the process of change, but it must be God who begins the work and brings it to completion.
How often have I tried it in my own strength to change things in my life? I have often tried to pray more and discipline myself more. I have tried not to say certain things or think certain things. The reality of the matter, however, is that unless the Lord is in our efforts, there is no real hope of lasting change in our lives. While we must be willing partners, the strength and power must be his. When the Lord Jesus returned to heaven, he sent the Holy Spirit to live in the hearts of those who accepted him. True change must be the work of God through his Holy Spirit. We must stop trying to change things ourselves and let the Lord make those changes for us. God completes the work he began in us.
Second, notice in verse 6, that it is God's intentions to continue working on us until his Son returns. Maybe you have met people who believe they have arrived at complete spiritual maturity. I have met individuals who have told me that they really had nothing more to learn about the Bible. This passage challenges this type of person. Paul tells us that God will not stop working on us until his Son returns. In other words, we may think we have arrived, but God knows better. He will continue to shape us and train us, showing us things we did not even know about ourselves that keep us from a deeper fellowship with him.
God will not give up. He is interested in completing what he has begun in our hearts and lives.

Life is so short. Life comes and goes like that. Its so sudden to see the 5 Singaporeans pass away through the dragonboat tragedy. Go take a look at Mr Stephen Loh's memorial blog. Then i knew Mr Chee Wei Cheng, he was in my platoon for a few months last year, and he was active in SAFSA dragonboat, so encouraging to see a NSF take time to train outside of camp, heard from him that trainings don't end early. What is life's purpose if we don't have Jesus in our lives? or are we willing to walk the extra mile with Jesus and die to our own selfish pleasures?

I'm having a party at my Father's house and you are invited ! !

As for me and my house. we will serve the Lord !

DIRECTIONS TO OUR FATHER'S HOUSE..... Make a right onto "Believeth Blvd.. Keep straight and go through the Green Light, which is Jesus Christ. From there, you must turn onto the "Bridge of Faith," which is over troubled waters. When you get off the bridge, make a Right and Keep Straight. You are on the "King's Highway" -- Heaven-Bound. Keep going for three miles: One for the Father, One for the Son and One for the Holy Spirit. Exit off onto "Grace Blvd." From there, make a Right turn on "Gospel Lane ." Keep straight and then make another Right onto "Prayer Road ." As you travel on your way, Yield Not to the traffic on "Temptation Ave." Also, avoid "Sin Street" because it is a DEAD END!! Pass up "Envy Drive," and "Hate Avenue." Also, pass "Hypocrisy Road," "Gossiping Lane," and "Backbiting Blvd." However, you must go down "Long Suffering Lane", "Persecution Street" and "Trials and Tribulations Avenue." But that's all right, because "VICTORY ROAD" is straight ahead ! Amen ! ! !!

Send These Directions To Your Friends So They, Too, Can Meet Us At The Party...

NOW IS THE TIME.. Why Wait?

I've really had a blessed time tonight. Although I was feeling sick with flu after the easter service, i went to join jeremy foo and his friend for dinner with my cell group. After that j.foo, his friend and me went to coffee club at takashimaya to chill out. It was really a blessed time, as jeremy and his friend both shared their testimony in their lives of how they really turned to God completely with a 180degree turn. Really encouraged by his friend because he really perservered and depended on the Lord to finally run the marathon last year. Won't say what really happened to the both of them but the thing is God really took away something from them, to sort of force them to depend upon the Lord. For example, we may think we can lead a life successfully without God, like doing well in studies. However God will make us see we cannot do well unless we turn to Him. Or God may take away our health so that we may turn to God as our hope, our Saviour and Lord. Or we may land up in a bad situation like going to jail if we choose to go our own way. God has a way to make us turn back to Him. So why wait for that day to come where we may suddenly lose our lives, where we may lose our health, where we may land up in a disastrous situation? God gives men choices in life, so why not make the choice to really live for God if you are a Christian, or accept Jesus Christ into your life this day if you're a non Christian?

What precise and detailed description that The Message Bible describes these verses. It's so clear in the meaning of poor in spirit, comforted, meek, and inherit the earth. During easter drama practice, we saw the different versions of the Bible and the Message Bible is so like preaching deeply into peoples' hearts. Do look up The Message Bible in www.biblegateway.com.

Matthew 5:3-5 (The Message Bible)
"You're blessed when you're at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.
"You're blessed when you feel you've lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.
"You're blessed when you're content with just who you are—no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought.

Matthew 5:3-5 (NIV)
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
